I don't mind the logos so much as that UGLY green start button on XP. That's why I use WindowBlinds, etc.

We are customizing the Operating System. Which means we take what is there and turn it into something else. Wallpapers (as much as I enjoy making them) doesnt really customize anything other than having a background on the desktop as oppose to a solid color.
Windows is a system not a logo or symbol.

The bottom line...if you want to make the windows logo...knock yourself out... just don't get bent all out of shape because nobody...or I should say...not everybody wants it on there desktop. I have nothing against logo's or symbols, I just don't want to look at them when the skinners here bust their humps to give us great looking skins to hide the logo's and symbols up. In fact, the first thing I did when I got my PC was to rid it of all the desktop logo's they were kind enough to load on my PC. The next thing I did was buy Object Desktop, a WinCustomize subscription, and CursorXP Plus to finish the job. I'm just not into symbols...I leave that to the symbol minded. No offense.

I like the logo. Its a good design, good colors, very well known and simple. You can scale it down and still recognise it. I wouldn't mind having it on my desktop. However, you see alot of 'bad' walls being uploaded and getting trough moderation just because they have the logo on it.

I thought that winCustomize only allowed skinz with the highest standards to be admitted into the site??? Instead of looking down on the walls (or anything else) with the logo on it, why can't we understand that it must be one or some of the better windows walls available... Obviously some skinz with windows logos make it past moderation... You cant see that they have to be fairly good in design to be able to get through? Or do you think that they just randomly pick Windows walls and let them slip through the cracks?

wstaylor, just be happy your walls made it on WC and that some people like them enough to download them.

Like most people have said, if we wanted to see all that MS stuff, we would just leave the puter the way it came.

Also remember that WC lowered the standards by about 20%.

You have to understand that the standard and opinions on which the moderators base the acceptance of a design is not shared by the many people that visit and download the designs. Just because moderators find a design good enough to make it public does not means that everyone is going to like it.
Just like webgizmo said, you are free to make any and all of the designs you want, just learn to accept the outcome of acceptance or rejection by the viewing public.

That is not all I have in my library WOM... That is not all I want to make either... It's just the lack of respect shown to people who design around the Windows Logo that bothers me... and not JUST my designs...

wstaylor, don't worry and don't wonder! You can't figure human nature! Personally I like the design, some people don't cause human nature means some "have-nots" hate the "haves". Also, I happen to love your wallpapers. I always have to modify them though cause I don't like text on my desktop but the logo doesn't bother me, neither does the butterfly.

I guess it's like a "team" logo, if you want to support your "team" you display their logo everywhere you can.
I would rather support some other team.... how come you so seldom see a wc team logo? or the stardock logo? now these "teams" I'd support! (occasionally... not EVERY other wall or graphic!)
